ELIZA FACTOR

RESIDENT TEACHER

I was fortunate introduced to qi gong by Thomas Droge in 2013 and have been practicing ever since. Qi gong’s mix of movement, conscious breathing and imagination has been immensely helpful, sometimes opening up parts of my body and spirit that I had lost track of, other times bringing comfort and grounding when life feels out of whack. Doing qi gong with other people amplifies the effect, so I am grateful for the chance to practice at the Qi Center and invite you to join me.

When I am not practicing qi gong, I am a writer and artist whose primary art is creating spaces where people with unusual bodies and minds can connect with each other and themselves. My current project is Lonely Worm Farm, a wheelchair accessible flower, herb and berry farm dedicated to the arts, ecology and inclusion. Stories and commentary on the farm can be found on my substack, Wayward Utopias. My books include Strange Beauty, a memoir about what I learned from my son, and two novels, The Mercury Fountain and Love Maps, which are linked stories concerning confused Americans. Links to articles and podcasts can be found on my site.
