ANNIE PIPER

VISITING TEACHER

A yoga teacher for over 20 years, I discovered a place to drop anchor and study my mind, my heart, my body, and my breath.

Annie has been a Yoga and somatic energetics teacher in NYC for long time before founding and studying Qigong with Thomas Droge and now integrating her yoga and qigong practice into the forms she teaches.

Annie is on the faculty at NYU Tisch School of Graduate Acting, NYU's Gallatin School, and the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University. She teaches a weekly class at The Qi Center and at The Shala Yoga House in Brooklyn and the famous Kula Yoga. She works with diverse communities across the NYC area with a focus on actor movement training and  trauma sensitive practice. Formerly an actor and director, Annie received an MFA in Acting from the University of Minnesota and a BA in Theater from Oberlin College. The Qi Center is very happy to have Annie as one of our resident teachers with weekly class and seasonal workshops.

ROOT LINAGE: Sharing from the Yoga teachings and the classical Chinese arts Qigong lineage of our root teacher Master Zhongxian Wu ancient arts of internal cultivation, and his student our master teacher of the Xing Ming Gong system Thomas Droge.
